The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ)
Protections for Victims of Human Trafficking Up
To date, there are over 20.9 million people who have become victims of human trafficking, including men, women, and children around the world. This kind of modern-day slavery takes place for the purpose of conducting works such as laboring, domestic servitude, sexual exploitation and even recruiting child soldier.
Normally, victims of human trafficking suffer from long-term torture in which they are held in custody without the right of leaving the place according to their free wills. Even after the victims have been rescued, there is a great possibility that they will not receive enough protection and recovery treatment. In many occasions, the lack of assistance and support for victims suffering from trafficking will force the victims to consent to accepting re-trafficked again. Extended assistance beyond the end of their exploitation and any criminal prosecution is needed.
This year in CCPCJ, we will discuss the issues of victims of human trafficking with a view to enhance the assistance offered to the victims and to make sure that their fundamental human rights are not compromised.

Tony Chou |
Hello everyone! My name is Tony Chou and I am currently a sophomore majoring in the Department of Foreign Language and Literature in NTU. I started my MUN career as a freshman in college, and I have attended three MUN conferences in my first year. The great thing about MUN is that I am able to have the chance to meet different people from different majors. After every conference, I make lifelong friends all over Taiwan and even the world. In MUN, you can explore a variety of aspects regarding the topic that we are discussing and also learn the art of listening to others. It is essential to respect others’ right of speak. A good listener is always capable of arranging all sorts of ideas. Also, MUN is the place where we can express our own opinions. Therefore, I am looking forward to this summer when you can study, speak, listen, communicate, negotiate and most important of all, have fun and make friends in HSMUN 2015. Making friends is easy, but MUN is the place to meet people with innovative ideas and passionate dreams. I hope you will have a great time in HSMUN 2015.

Hi delegates! My name is Jason Chen. I major in Pharmacy at National Taiwan University, and I am going to be a sophomore after this summer! Not until I entered university did I begin to participate in MUN conferences. However, I was mesmerized by MUN promptly. I’m looking forward to sharing this exultation with you. Thus, please don’t hesitate about the registration of HSMUN! “Oftentimes in denying yourself pleasure you do but store the desire in the recesses of your being. Who knows but that which seem omitted today, waits for tomorrow?”- Kahlil Gibran.
Being your assistant chair is my honor, and I hope that you can gain a lot in CCPCJ. Hence, I hold great expectation of good preparedness to you guys! In addition, don’t be intimidated by the arduous task to do the research. You will be infatuated with the beauty of knowledge over time. “ Since I have already embarked on this path, then, noting should prevent me to go down this road.”- Immanuel Kant. |

Andrew Liu |
Hi, everyone! I’m Andrew, currently a freshman studying Economics in National Taiwan University. My passion towards international relations starts from my freshmen year in high school. A global economy vision course aroused my interest in discovering what this world looks like and what’s happening around the world, which determines my destination of choosing social science as my major study. Although people may think that MUN is a bunch of cold-faced people sitting together discussing world crisis (well, it’s quite true), I’m actually a very outgoing person. Thus feel free to ask me any questions you have!
MUN is a place you can develop the skill of negotiation and cooperation, meanwhile to learn about what is happening around the world, like what crisis is urgent to be solved. Moreover, the most important thing is that you can meet lots of inspiring friends who might change your life. So why not grasp this chance during your high school years? I am looking forward to seeing you guys in HSMUN CCPCJ! |
